Our festival is attended and nominated films are judged by some of the heavyweights of the Australian Film Industry. Surfing is a huge part of Byron’s cultural identity and our surf film sessions are a highlight if the festival. The screenplay must be protected with the WGA or Copyright Registration number, and if this is an international entry please provide your country’s protection number.

Films of all lengths and genres which were not screened before January 1st are welcome to enter with awards available in the categories of Best Film, Short Film, Young Australian Filmmaker under 25Animation, Experimental, Surfing, Drama, Documentary, Environmental and Cinematography.

All screenplays must be between 80 and pages in length. By submitting your work to BBFF you attest that you have the authority to do so.
