Not able to withstand the circumstances of helplessness, Anupama decided to lead bby life in a meaningful way and moved to Mumbai. A book that compels you to question our outlook towards people. The word Mahashweta stands for a lot of things in the book. Their match was made in the heavens. From the very beginning I disliked Anand. Anand is a rich doctor.

Though many of them might not be fond of her, her writing is just amhashweta. A nice way to let people know about leukoderma and the social stigma that comes with it. But I have come to believe with expe I have become a true fan of Mrs Murty’s writing.


The novel deals with the issue of leukoderma. This a Must Read Book for Everyone. Anand convinced his mother to marry Anupama. Sudha Murthy was one of the initial investors in the company. Her faith is tested in every step from there on, neither mahashwsta is allowed to live peacefully in her in-laws place nor in her parents.

There were emotions, simplicity, self-made characters and most important thing hidden messages.

I have also read her short stories. She bluntly yet bravely shows them what is wrong with their mindsets and in turn makes us question our morals, our innermost trepidations; all the while making the process as simple as possible.


That is another reason, why this book might appeal more, only to Indian readers. Dolly advises her to stay with them, but with the requirement of having to cook her own food, since Anu is a strict vegetarian.

Sudha Murthy is just an amazing author.
